Karl Rove: Sarah Palin has ‘enormous thin skin’

by Adam Russett on August 25, 2011

It's no secret that Karl Rove, the mastermind behind George. W Bush's improbable win in the 2000 election, is not fond of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. And according to The Huffington Post, the political strategist made it glaringly apparent on Fox News Wednesday night.

Rove has maintained that he believes Palin will announce her candidacy for president in the upcoming weeks, based largely on the fact that her website and political action committee, SarahPAC, released a video giving updates about her travel plans. The Palin camp bristled at his supposition, something Rove blasted in his appearance on the network.

"It is a sign of enormous thin skin if we speculate about her, she gets upset, and I suspect if we didn't speculate about her, she'd be upset and trying to find a way to get us to speculate about her," Rove told Fox News host Greta Van Sustren.

The comments are in response to note posted on the SarahPAC website that characterized Rove's prediction as a way to fuel the 24-hour news cycles. Rove says that's ridiculous, because if Palin really wanted to put a stop to the endless speculation, all she has to do is say she's not running.

Rove is not alone in his frustration with the former Vice Presidential candidate's schedule. Palin has conspicuously timed the stops on her cross-country bus tour to steal the spotlight from actual Republican candidates, including making a stop in New Hampshire the same day Mitt Romney threw his hat in the race. She also made a surprise appearance in Iowa the same time many republican candidates were in town for the Ames straw poll.
