Tiger Woods Elin Nordegren Divorce Granted
After nine months of media noise surrounding a string of affairs that led up to an auto “accident” in their neighborhood golfer Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren are granted a divorce.
Tiger and Elin were married for three years and have two children. The following joint statement was released by the couple.
“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us. Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”
Tiger lost millions in endorsements companies like Gatorade and AT&T and most likely damaged chances of future endorsements with mainstream sponsors. Tiger could be regretting the decision to marry in his early twenties when when in retrospect he was in the peak of his career.
The total amount the divorce will cost Tiger hasn’t been released yet but it’s estimated that it could be as high as $750 million. Elin had signed a prenuptial agreement when she first married Tiger but renegotiated it in the wake of his sex scandal in an attempt by Tiger to save his marriage.
After nineteen women came forward stating that they had sexual relationships with Tiger he suddenly discovered that he was a sex addict and began therapy for the addiction that had plagued him for the better part of his adult life.
Even though Tiger has been performing poorly on the golf course he is still ranked number one worldwide.
